The Experience

We need an animal and garden loving person to help us look after our pets, gardens and vegetable plot. Although we won't ask you to work additional hours we might occasionally ask you to be flexible about when those might be. In return, we'll give you a lovely room, great food, use of our bikes and we'll treat you as part of the family. We'll also teach you a bit about different gardening methods - permaculture, no-dig, crop rotation etc.

The home & Steve were gracious and respectful hosts. Working with them far exceeded my expectations. This was my first worldpackers experience and it has me excited for more. Work hours were as listed; hard work but fair and reasonable. the home took the time to educate me on everything we were doing throughout my time there. I really feel like I came out of it having learned a lot. Down time was very enjoyable, getting to know the two of them and the area they live in. We had the most wonderful chats over delicious home cooked meals. You will have yourself a laugh and truly feel at home here.

I had an amazing experience with Jo and Steve ! I have learned so much about gardening and not only that, but I also learned a lot about life as well. Throughout the week it was hard work with a lot of laughter and learning. In the week(ends) they brought us to some beautiful places. Throughout the day every meal was great, and we had everything we needed. They have the nicest cats and dogs, which I am gonna miss. I highly recommend this place to everyone who wants to learn a lot and have a great time while doing it. Thanks for a lovely stay !

Jo and Steve are fantastic hosts. They opened their home to us, and we had a great exchange of knowledge and fun. Whilst working there, we learned a lot about gardening, composting and nature. Jo told us a lot about gardening methods and how nature and crops interact with each other. We felt part of a team, and it was always very clear what we had to do and why. As an animal friend, I was very happy to meet their two lovely cats and two dogs, who are very sweet. Every day we got delicious home-cooked meals, and we got to see the area and some great villages. Thank you both for a lovely time!

I had an great time at the home. Jo and Steve are amazing people, kind, gentle and generous. I learned about composting, environmental, gardening. The work can be hard but they're always around showing what need to be done and they have all necessary tools for safety. We had so much fun together with amazing dinners, going out in the cities around and also playing Uno. I'll never forget this experience and I hope I can come back some day. Already miss you, guys 💙 thanks for everything!

Hi Felippe,
Thanks so much for a lovely review. We thoroughly enjoyed spending time with you here - it was great fun hearing about your adventures and sharing those Uno matches! We'd love to see you back chez nous but I'll keep you posted anyway on the tulips and hyacinths! Bon voyage, Felippe!

It was our first experience as a worldpacker and it couldn't be better. The house is big, clean and warm and so is the bedroom we've been in. The tasks are really clear and if you feel that your english is not that good they will make an effort to explain themselves as clear as possible. They were our parents in France, always taking care of us, taking us out for a walk and asking if we needed something. Love, Laughter and very pleasants chats are always in this place. Being with Joanna and Steve is an experience you must have in your life.

What a lovely review! Thank you! And thankyou for coming to Le Moulin and entering into the spirit of what we're trying to do here. You were both such great WPS to have here - always smiling, always ready to have a laugh at our questionable jokes and putting up with our 'If I ruled the World' manifesto!

Good luck in all you do. You're in our thoughts and we hope that one day, you will come back and collect that thing that you left in the drawer. We'll put the kettle on!
