Jo and Steve's Home

We're a middle aged English speaking couple creating a special environment here. Gardening, art and making everyone feel happy is what motivates us.

We have a beautiful home in a very peaceful and idyllic setting that we share with our friendly dogs and cats. You'll have your own lovely room and a bathroom, use of our living areas, access to an art studio and, if its warm enough, use of our pool.

If you are looking for a quiet haven in a beautiful setting the Moulin is for you!

You'll be treated as our guest - in return for some manual help around the garden, orchard and house. We will treat you with trust, respect and humour - and we'll make sure that you get to see the stunning area in which we live whilst you're with us. We see this as an exchange - your labour for our hospitality. We are generous hosts and would be upset if our volunteers felt shortchanged both in the food they eat, their accommodation and the experience. In return we ask that you be motivated during your hours, are enthusiastic, smiling and engage with us. We enjoy having volunteers in our home for several reasons and not only for the tasks that you do - although that is important too. Having a volunteer is motivating - it makes us tackle some of the tasks that maybe we have been putting off. We get a buzz from seeing the progress on our home and gardens, and from seeing this beautiful place through someone else's eyes. And with our children leading their own lives we miss the connection to current culture and love hearing about it through our volunteers.

This was one of the best expiriences I had in my life! Jo and steve are really nice persons with a HUGE heart. They are a lovely couple and is really nice to hang out with them. The job is really cool and you will learn a lot about gardening, the work can be little hard sometimes but they won't give you any task you can't handle. They make so much efford to make volunteers feel good and comfortable... They will take you out to explore places, give you a great bedroom to stay, good food (really good food) and you will learn a lot about sustentabilty, wich is great!!!

Thank you for such a lovely review, Lucas. We enjoyed having you to stay and your enthusiasm and energy. Thank you, both, for all the hard work you put into the two weeks - it wasn't the most enjoyable weather for WPS! But neither of you ever complained. Let us know how you get on with your next adventure.

We're looking forward to seeing your video and seeing you become an international social media sensation!

I am sad that i can give only 5 stars in this feedback, because Jo and Steve deserve the whole sky!!! Everything good that you read on the comments bellow are totally true. If there is any bad comment, the person who did it must be tripping so hard... If you ever get chosen by Jo and Steve, feel HONORED. Seriously. Also, i would give my little toe from my left foot to eat Jo's food one more time.

Oh goodness! I just filled up! You are so kind! I'm just sorry that the weather was so awful - it kind of put a bit of a dampner on our projects! But you did the very best job at potting up and, at the last count, I have 180 tomato seedlings!!! They just keep popping up - what did you feed them!!!!?

Keep in touch, Lorelay, and don't forget to use the talent that you have for art. And next time - teach me how to do the Foster the People dance!
Lots of love xx

As my 1st WP experience I can tell that Jo & Steve far exceeded my expectations. The place is beatiful and well keept, the level of attention they show, exceptional and the activities planned are well integrated into the stay.
As for the experience, I shared the project with a couple and luckly we got along very well, in part thanks to the lead of the hosts who patiently guided us trogh the daily life in the Moulin and provided us with personalized attention and kindness.
Also, they do not allow you to know hunger. The food they serve is all delicious and served in abundant portions.

Jo & Steve were gracious and respectful hosts. Working with them far exceeded my expectations. This was my first worldpackers experience and it has me excited for more. Work hours were as listed; hard work but fair and reasonable. Jo took the time to educate me on everything we were doing throughout my time there. I really feel like I came out of it having learned a lot. Down time was very enjoyable, getting to know the two of them and the area they live in. We had the most wonderful chats over delicious home cooked meals. You will have yourself a laugh and truly feel at home here.

I had an amazing experience with Jo and Steve ! I have learned so much about gardening and not only that, but I also learned a lot about life as well. Throughout the week it was hard work with a lot of laughter and learning. In the week(ends) they brought us to some beautiful places. Throughout the day every meal was great, and we had everything we needed. They have the nicest cats and dogs, which I am gonna miss. I highly recommend this place to everyone who wants to learn a lot and have a great time while doing it. Thanks for a lovely stay !
