The experience

We need an animal and garden loving person to help us look after our pets, gardens and vegetable plot. Although we won't ask you to work additional hours we might occasionally ask you to be flexible about when those might be.

In return, we'll give you a lovely room, great food, use of our bikes and we'll treat you as part of the family. We'll also teach you a bit about different gardening methods - permaculture, no-dig, crop rotation etc.

What you offer

25 hours of help per week

Gardening: Help grow plants and cultivate gardens

What you get

2 days off per week

Private Room: You will have a bed in a private room. In other words, a room just for you.

Breakfast: You are entitled to a free breakfast, every day of your stay.

Lunch: You are entitled to a free lunch, every day of your stay.

Dinner: You are entitled to a free dinner, every day of your stay.

Free Laundry: You can use our laundry room freely.

Free Hiking Tours: We’ll take you on excursions and hikes around town. For free!

Get free drinks or beverages.: Drink up! Get free and tasty drinks for yourself.

Bikes at your disposal: You can use our bikes any time you want.

Pick Up: We will pick you up when you arrive, and take you to our property.

Basic Internet Access: Basic speed internet for you to work remotely

Requirements

Intermediate English or Beginner French

Between 25 and 80 years old

Only hosts solo volunteers (doesn’t accept couples or partners)

Flights, Travel Insurance, Internal Transportation and Visa

Program Details

We are generous hosts and will provide a lovely private room with your own bathroom, a beautiful shared living area, laundry facilities, great food (we are not vegetarian) and a private swimming pool.
In return we expect you to work the number of hours agreed, to follow our methods of gardening, and respect our home and our animals.

* We won't ask you to work more hours/days but we might ask you to be flexible about when. ie: during hot periods we might ask you to start work at 8pm to avoid the worst of the heat.

Rules

No smoking anywhere on our property.
No feeding pets anything other than pet food.
