My volunteering at this hotel's Taipei branch started off well, but things got worse after a few weeks.Despite the kindness of some staff members, the language barrier created communication problems. The real problem was with my roommate who gave me silent treatment for most of my stay, even after the earthquake.Feeling isolated was difficult, but the kindness of a staff member kept me going. Hosts should check in with volunteers more often to make sure they feel comfortable and valued, which could prevent situations like mine.Despite this bad experience, I still had some Warm moments that I cherish

The hostel has good staff who are very kind and pleasant to work with. However, it's important to note that the hostel only hosts one volunteer at a time, which limits opportunities for getting to know other travellers.

My experience was great. Everyone was so nice and the work was really easy and done fast. They had a great kitchen, where I loved making my own food. I felt welcomed and comfortable the whole time. Thank you so much!

The host has some locations. The place I was placed was a hotel-like accommodation with only private rooms, and most of the guests were families or groups. There were very few opportunities to interact with travelers from all over the world. The host's information it's written breakfast is provided, but it was never served there. The photo posted on the host's page is also actually not there. I wish I had known this incorrect information before applying. The person mentioned in the review doesn't actually exist there. It seems like it's in a different location what was written in the review.

The hostel is very nice and has a very good location. The tasks are relatively easy and they help you and do not leave you alone. Karen especially has a very nice way with people. I'll miss Taiwan
