The experience

Yosemite homestead needs some tender, loving care & help with raised bed gardens, resident pets and livestock in the Sierra Nevada foothills, Mariposa, California. 1-2 can be accommodated. Quiet ranch-ette with beautiful views, privacy yet close to cute gold rush town. We have all 4 seasons here and my favorite time is winter. In hot summer months, mid-June, July and August. Home to horse, goats, chickens, ducks, peacocks, rabbits, dogs & cats.

What you offer

25 hours of help per week

Animal Care: Help look after and take care of animals.

Building & Repairing: Help with a wide range of repairs or building.

Farming: Plant crops, sow seeds and help in outside tasks.

Gardening: Help grow plants and cultivate gardens

What you get

2 days off per week

Private Room: You will have a bed in a private room. In other words, a room just for you.

Tent: You will sleep in a tent at a camping site.

Breakfast: You are entitled to a free breakfast, every day of your stay.

Lunch: You are entitled to a free lunch, every day of your stay.

Dinner: You are entitled to a free dinner, every day of your stay.

Pick Up: We will pick you up when you arrive, and take you to our property.

Use our equipped kitchen: Feel free to use our kitchen and make your own delicious food.

Fast Internet Access: High-speed internet for you to work remotely

Program Details

Animal care, fire prevention, garden care and maintenance, compost, huglekulture, daily feeding and watering of animals, garden etc. Dogs need walking and chores are seasonal changing with the weather. Various projects happen seasonally.

Activities & Shift

i expect 25 hours a week and that can happen at your convenience and schedule. I need help with daily chores for 1-2 hours in the morning. Other projects can happen on your own time and schedule working independently. Host works from home and has a demanding job working online from 9-5. I understand that you will want to visit nearby Yosemite and will be flexible to accommodate your visits. You will have a private bedroom and access to a bathroom, that may be shared. Household is cared for by a weekly housekeeper and world packers are expected to clean up after themselves in between. Contributions toward the household are welcome, sweeping the floor as needed, unloading or loading dishwasher, help with meals and pitching in as needed.
