The experience

Our old farmhouse is in the middle of the Cumbrian country-side surrounded by fields and wildlife but only three miles from the shops of Wigton and eight miles from the historic city of Carlisle.
My husband and I have lived here for nearly 19 years and would like to welcome people to share our wonderful home and help with looking after our hens, garden and house.
Unfortunately, we are unable to assist with visas and/or documents.

What you offer

5 hours of help per day

Housekeeping: Help with changing the bed linens and general housekeeping.

Pet Sitting: Taking care of and looking after pets.

Cleaning: Help clean the kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms and common areas.

Gardening: Help grow plants and cultivate gardens

What you get

1 day off per week

Private Room: You will have a bed in a private room. In other words, a room just for you.

Breakfast: You are entitled to a free breakfast, every day of your stay.

Lunch: You are entitled to a free lunch, every day of your stay.

Dinner: You are entitled to a free dinner, every day of your stay.

Pick Up: We will pick you up when you arrive, and take you to our property.

Program Details

We only take volunteers for three or four days at a time due to other commitments. Board and meals in exchange for work undertaken.
