The Experience

Requirements are simple, which makes them exceptionally rare: loving open heart, “no work is below me” attitude, interpersonal flexibility, decent English language proficiency. Desirables: Serbian language, self-sufficiency and motivation to do more (we’re always open to ideas!) Absolute no-no: racism, xenophobia, homophobia, and any discriminatory political or religious views.

It was one of the best experiences I had as a volunteer. The hostel is beautiful, new, clean and comfortable, Dima takes care of it with great attention to detail, he really appreciates the contribution of volunteers, both with work and ideas. The work is not difficult, you just need to pay attention to the instructions and if you are a person who takes initiative, your efforts will be recognized. Belgrade is a modern city with lots to see and do. the hostel is a place I definitely want to go back to. Dima, thank you so much for making my experience so incredible, see you soon!

If you're looking for a cozy place with incredible people, the hostel is the place. I lived the best days as a traveler in Europe. Unfortunately I only spent a few days there, but the feeling is that I was at home. Thanks for everything friends.

The hostel was my first hostel volunteering and I absolutely loved my stay. I learned so many thing about how a hostel functions on daily basis and about myself while staying in this hostel. Their facilities are very clean and amazingly cozy! I enjoyed communicating with other guests and volunteers, and Dima is fantastic chef and the best manager. If you are looking for volunteering in Belgrade, I cannot suggest the hostel enough! You will love this place and make unforgettable memories :)

The hostel is very clean and in a very convenient location in Belgrade. It's very safe and comfortable. Sometimes I felt as though the communication between the owner with guests and other employees was very disrespectful and unnecessarily hostile. All love and respect but I would not recommend my friends to go there if they don't have a tolerance for being spoken to very strongly.

Hi Renee,
Such a shame, that instead of mentioning it at least once to us, you decided to leave all the negative feedback till this review but I guess you wanted us to leave you a good one. And it worked, as we didn’t mention your habitual drinking, the mess you left everywhere, and hooking up with guests which you later avoid creating unnecessary tension. We even didn’t mention that you’re actually 19 and not 23 as your profile said. Said that after getting our feedback you’d always redo the task to a satisfactory level, which we appreciate, as well as your initiative. Maybe someday you’ll learn to be more appreciative as well.

This hostel is amazing. Great quality but unfortunately it was a bit complicated the socialization with the owner for the way he could talk to me being rude. But in my last days I could understand better all the pressure he has and the good vibe he has to share. I wish it was more chill from the beginning but still thankful for this opportunity.
