The experience

Do you like to make order from disorder?
We have outbuildings that are stacked with stuff we either need or don't need plus rubbish.
I, John, am sorting my way through these areas and need an active workmate to move, take, fetch, generally work alongside me until we have order.
There will be trailer filling and emptying. Boxing and labeling. Generally organising.

What you offer

25 hours of help per week

Gardening: Help grow plants and cultivate gardens

Building & Repairing: Help with a wide range of repairs or building.

What you get

2 days off per week

Private Room: You will have a bed in a private room. In other words, a room just for you.

Shared Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other travelers.

Breakfast: You are entitled to a free breakfast, every day of your stay.

Lunch: You are entitled to a free lunch, every day of your stay.

Dinner: You are entitled to a free dinner, every day of your stay.

Free Laundry: You can use our laundry room freely.

Get free drinks or beverages.: Drink up! Get free and tasty drinks for yourself.

Bikes at your disposal: You can use our bikes any time you want.

Pick Up: We will pick you up when you arrive, and take you to our property.

Program Details

We are a homestay, you will have your own bedroom, share bathrooms, we share meals together, normally we cook but anyone is welcome to offer to cook for all of us.
In the evenings, meal finished, dogs walked, we are happy to either watch movies or play games.

Activities & Shift

Mornings, breakfast at about 9, then general household chores, floors swept, dishwasher emptied.
2 hours on project.
Lunch, depending on time of year, soup or salad, always fresh bread, we make it ourselves, home made yoghurts with fruit syrup.
Afternoon 3 hours on project.
Evening meal with wine or home made English style beer.

Rules

Main rule is be considerate, think planet. We don't endlessly run water, we only wash full loads in the machine during your days off, there's always someone who has things to add, we do not open windows without turning off the heating, we normally have home made cake or cookies to munch on.
Weekends are weekends we do not disturb sleepers, we take our time, are considerate and Saturday we make pizza.
