Program Details

The bioconstruction program in the Amazon is basically directed to all those who love construction with ecologic materials, since we are an indigenous community our buildings are naturally made with local materials, we use palmtrees, leaves, bamboo, different kind of wood, rocks, lianas… I am trying to build a little cabin with these materials to receive more volunteers and we need your help.
We do not have wifi, we bath in the river and we don't have conventional toilet.

Activities & Shift

After breakfast we need one or more people to go collect materials for the building, it will take usually from 3 to 4h depending on what is needed.
Once we have all the materials we will start building and during that process we will need some helping as well around 3-4h per day.
Every afternoon will be free to go around the community, visit close places like waterfalls, rivers, trails in the jungle. You can also engage with people from the community and help them go to the chakra, learn how to make chicha, cook in a traditional way, learn how to make handcrafts, etc.
on weekends the community gathers to play soccer.

Rules

Food is not wasted and there is no favoritism.
The Volunteer must bring their own rubber boots, since in the field and the jungle it is essential for daily activities.
The volunteer must bring a mosquito repellent.
The volunteer must bring biodegradable wet towels.
the volunteer must have the least amount of plastic possible, since we do not have an efficient system to capture waste
