ECC.T

Sisaket will provide you with a true rural Thai experience. See the impact of your efforts from day to day as you are interacting with the children, community, and community leaders daily. You will be embraced and create lifelong relationships with both the children and the community. See how Thai culture lives away from tourist destinations!

ABOUT TEACHING
Volunteers teach at the primary and secondary school(same school), which is located about a 5-10 minute free shutter bus or bike. Typically, you will teach for an average of 3 hours per day, although depending on your availability and the number of volunteers staying at that time, you may be asked to teach for up to 6 hours. You can join every activity and every class, with the local teacher who will help and support you in teaching and playing with children.

The majority of our classes are conducted in English, so all volunteers must have at least a conversational level of English ability. However, please do not worry if your English is not perfect, as any assistance is greatly appreciated.

Our dorm can go to the Bus station / Train station / Immigration / Hospital / Superstore in 15-25 minutes. We working hard for you with the immigration process and help you with any problems. We will find the best, quick, and cheapest for solving your immigration problems.

The volunteers, the ECC.T-staff, and the teachers of the public school will work together on a day-to-day basis. We are one team and everyone is happy to help each other. No teaching experience is needed in advance to join the ECC.T school. Your knowledge of English and enthusiasm to teach are the assets we are looking for. We provide teaching material and guidelines. You will be teaching on weekdays and have the weekend off to explore the city and the beautiful surroundings Sisaket province has to offer.

My experience in Sisaket was truly unforgettable. The host Pnom made me feel immediately at home and very comfortable. He welcomed me in to his culture and home as if I was his own. I made unforgettable memories and I was truly immersed into the Thai culture. This would be an amazing program for a beginner traveler as he is constantly available to help answer any questions. Overall my stay was absolutely magical and I didn’t feel uncomfortable at any point. The children and faculty at the school were amazing as well and eased you into teaching smoothly. I will definitely be back.

My time in Sisaket has been such an unforgettable experience. PNom, his family and local people made me feel so welcomed. PNom is an amazing host, he has so much knowledge and is more than happy to share with volunteers. Teaching is a beautiful experience, teaching a range of year groups, all the children were so eager to learn. I was given so many wonderful opportunities to immerse myself in local culture (eating food, visiting temples, spending a day in Kui village). I have made special memories for life and recommend this experience to everyone. Thank you so much to Sisaket!

Thank you, Niamh. You come here and work hard on the first day. You can handle all children and pass that. You helped me in the senior volunteer position and advised new volunteers in teaching and staying in Sisaket. Welcome back to Sisaket every time. :)

hi! my experience here was far from what i expected. i came in with the expectation of doing photo/video work and was told that i would be teaching English. when i first arrived i was a bit shocked at the facilities. in my honest opinion, i feel as though the living space was unhygienic. we found a bag of rice that had bugs in it, there was no hot water and we were not given bottled water. only after we left did the host tell us the tap water was filtered. even then i'm still not sure i would trust it. the town is very rural and finding food other than snacks at 7/11 is difficult.

Dear Alexa, Sorry for your bad experience. Maybe it doesn't like your expectation, Everything will be not trust with you. I fully accept your thinking to me. We are not close to talking and exchanging minds.
I said sorry to make your mood bad. Mainly, our project focuses on helping children learn English with native speakers. After that, we expanded to promote our project (your position). The project is not my business, I fully hope and sincerely in helping children. Maybe something is not perfect. I'm said sorry to you. I will adopt everything to the best for volunteers who want to help children same as us.

EEC Sisaket was an amazing volunteering experience. It is exactly as promoted in the rural region in the northeast close to Cambodia and Laos. This project equips you with basic teaching experience aimed at young children from ages 6 - 14 and was personally very helpful.

I'd definitely come back to visit again!
