Volunteers do not receive a Pod. you have a bed that falls out of the wall. You are working more than what is advertised. Thursday afternoon starting at 4pm until 11pm, Friday Saturday and Sunday 10am to 11pm. Volunteers are also completing tasks for other the hostel locations. You can't sleep because of placement of bed, roght next tona double wide window which looks directly into the street and the hostel. People walking pass can see straight through the hostel. The host is very rude and combative via messaging site for entire company. It is not a traveling Hostel. The host accepts anyone' money.

We asked Nelly to leave early because she had a bad attitude. It was as if she was a "know it all" and had to always be right. This led to argumentative and negative experiences with staff. We have someone now that is SO positive and is a breath of fresh air. We hope that Nelly can find an arrangement that is calming and healthy for her.

Upscale homeless and ex convicts shelter. Stuff gets stolen (even the hostel's cash box) and you'll feel unsafe, Elvina accepts anyone who pays the night basically. On a positive side i could say it's really thoughtful to have a place like this BUT i wouldn't sell it also as a Worldpackers experience, this is not the experience you are looking for as an international traveler. I left this place for my own safety and got my self to a “don't let her in list”, funny because Elvina accepts ex convicts but she doesn't really care about hard working people. feel free to read comments on Google reviews

Jacqueline was one of the most judgmental volunteers we've had. She judged a book by its cover and jumped to conclusions for "Safety". She said that she was clutching her purse around certain people, which was an odd comment. We have 5 other volunteers that live and work here, some of whom for years. Ultimately we banned her because she continued to come onto the premises after she ditched us last minute! It is very hard to find volunteers last minute, and we give a courtesy time frame but Jacqueline just left us hanging and then had certain expectations. She was very rude at the end.

This is a great experience to get set up in LA and establish yourself and connections. The work is hard at times, and you need to learn to stand up for yourself when guests try to push you around. The other employees are great, but the guests will highly determine your overall experience. You need to be hardworking, good at communication, and confident in yourself and your work.
