The experience

Hi! We are looking for volunteers to help us take care of our children! We are an experienced host family having been blessed with 14 big sisters for Mahli (6) and Arlo (3).
What we look for in our big sisters is: someone who's sensible, responsible, kind, helpful, friendly and calm; and that enjoys taking the kids on adventures to the park, beach, wildlife zoo etc.
The number one priority in this opportunity is keep an eye on the kids.

What you offer

32 hours of help per week

Kitchen Hand: Help prepare, finish and serve meals.

Cleaning: Help clean the kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms and common areas.

Child Care: Caring for, playing with, and spending time with children.

What you get

2 days off per week

Private Room: You will have a bed in a private room. In other words, a room just for you.

Breakfast: You are entitled to a free breakfast, every day of your stay.

Lunch: You are entitled to a free lunch, every day of your stay.

Dinner: You are entitled to a free dinner, every day of your stay.

Free Laundry: You can use our laundry room freely.

Bikes at your disposal: You can use our bikes any time you want.

Fast Internet Access: High-speed internet for you to work remotely

Requirements

Intermediate English

Between 18 and 27 years old

Only hosts solo volunteers (doesn’t accept couples or partners)

Program Details

We're looking for:
-Someone who understands the importance of contributing to a household.
-Someone with a genuine love for children and wanting to be fully part of our family
- Someone who also values activities and experiences over screen time.

In return you receive a private room in our new, big house with a huge pool in beautiful Port Douglas. A cleaner comes every week so it is only tidying up after the children and contributing with dinner tidy up.
You receive family holidays, weekend trips with us and harwork is appreciated and rewarded with bonuses.
Start date ASAP until at least June.

Activities & Shift

Monday to Friday - and on weekends we would love to have you join our family for activities.

We like also to go on holidays with long term volunteers. They join us on holidays with flights, food and accommodation paid for.
