Volunteers as a teacher at our school in Bangkok

Brazil

This was definitely the best choice for my first volunteering. Both the family and the community treated me very well and made me feel very welcome. Also, we have direct contact with Thai culture, both during meals and in contact with community residents. Regarding the school, the students are of different ages and have different levels of English, they are all very polite and intelligent. With a little help you can easily follow the class without any problems.

What a beautiful family, what a beautiful community. I couldn't be happier, they welcomed me with open arms, did everything to make me feel at home and were always concerned about me. The classes are very easy to do, they create games, teach you how to pronounce words, but above all they laugh a lot. I'm very happy to have met this family, which is now a family to me too.

I had an amazing time here! The family is super lovely and they cook thai food for you. I got really attached to the three children (two 16yo and one 18yo). The neighborhood is super nice and welcoming too, it was very easy to connect to thai people. For work we mostly had to play games in English with the children. It is not a school you will go to everyday to teach. Either children from the neighborhood will come to the house or you will go to different schools/ community centers. You can reach bangkok center by taking the BTS skytrain from Khu Khot station whis is a 10min walk away.

My sides still hurt from laughing so much at this homestay. The house and community center are always filled with local school kids practicing some English while playing games. I felt like a family member around the table eating the most amazing meals and staying up late into the night playing games. You will get the true feeling of living with a Bangkok family away from the city center and the authentic experience of living with a family of Buddhists. Their generosity is through the roof. When you aren't teaching or hosting a game session, they plan trips to like badminton or markets

I had a really important experience here!!! The family and community are very generous & lovely. I felt very good, comfortable and a part of the project. Playing and sharing were my principal tasks. The work is flexible and funny. Also, you can have space to create and share new activities or skills. I really enjoyed and I feel that sports and life in community can help to improve our relationships and why not the WORLD! It makes me feel inspired and proud with children & teenagers. I super recommend to contact with local people and to know more about Thai culture. Thanks! <3
