The experience

We have a small goat farm in Central Kentucky, United States. We raise Kiko meat goats and are expecting between 15-25 kids for the 2023-2024 kidding season. We also have a horse, two dogs, and two cats.

We are centrally located in the United States. Major cities like Louisville, Indianapolis, and Cincinnati are all within a couple hours drive. Chicago and Atlanta are 6-8 hours away for the weekend.

Program Details

We would like to have someone willing to help on our farm with general household and farm chores. This will include things like helping to feed animals, clean stalls, repair fences, and assist with babies. Household things to include would be light cleaning and help with cooking. You would have a private room and shared bathroom. You are welcome to use our house as your own including internet and laundry. In addition to your own room we will provide all meals we eat together at home or out.

Activities & Shift

Typically we interact with our animals twice a day. We spend time with them in mornings and evenings feeding and checking on them. Except during kidding season (October - March) we usually leave them alone during the day.
We complete many of our farm projects like fence repair and preventative care on the weekends.
Most days you will have to yourself to do as you will. If you enjoy cooking we would love to sample dishes from your home country.

Rules

We ask that you be respectful of our home and spend time with our family. You are welcome to stay as long as you like as a member of our family. We do ask that you not smoke on our property or bring home a date.
