The Experience

We are a small Hostel that can accommodate 25 travelers from all around the world! New volunteers will be trained on the cleaning shift which involves: washing and hang-drying linens, making beds, cleaning bathrooms, sweeping, vacuuming, etc. It’s not difficult work but it does require going up and down stairs as well as climbing up and down bunk beds. Some volunteers will also be trained on breakfast/morning reception.

San Luis the hostel is such a magical place. I'm so glad I had the opportunity to stay here. The hostel reminds me of my grandma's house. It's cute and quaint. I truly enjoyed working with Maria & Ella. Together we all worked like a team and got the work done. They also had really amazing recommendations of things to do on your off time. The work fluctuates so it's different everyday. Overall, the experience was awesome!

I had an amazing time in San Luis the hostel! Jarred and the rest of the staff were very welcoming. I was responsible for the cleaning shift, which was easy to learn. The tasks took me a few hours a day, and I had enough free time left to explore the beautiful surroundings after my shift or on my free days. The hostel gave me the opportunity to eat delicious pancakes every morning, meet travelers from all over the world, and feel at home. I would definitely recommend it to anyone!

The hostel is a very charming bed-and-breakfast-like hostel. It's in the heart of Downtown San Luis the hostel. There are many things to do like hiking, beach and shopping. I signed up to work at the hostel because I wanted to get hospitality experience and Jarred, the owner, provided that opportunity allowing me to work at the Front Desk. Jarred is a very kind, welcoming, and generous host. Jarred is extremely flexible on the schedule. He allows the staff to provide input on what shifts they would like to work. Jarred also allowed me to work a part-time job to earn money. I enjoyed my time.
