I loved my time here, I felt settled in and welcomed really quickly. The work was good fun and I really enjoyed working with the animals, they all have funny personalities and working with these lovely animals was a treat. The animals are all really well cared for and receive the best care. I really enjoyed my time here and I felt like I helped make a difference looking after these animals.

Volunteering with F.A.R was an incredible experience I will forever treasure! Getting to know the animals, learning about their care and histories and the effects of the industry. Brad was an amazing host, very informative, always willing to answer questions, give us lifts to town/train station and generally look out for you during your stay. The hours are long but there's lots of breaks and the work was fun and v rewarding! It was a lovely reset for me and such a special experience I would recommend to everyone!

It was just great having Maddie at the sanctuary, Maddie's positive attitude and dedication to the sanctuary just made for a terrific time all round.
Just to clarify however that we are very happy to drop people at the station or to town if we need to go there for sanctuary business, but we aren't able to take people places any other time. This may or may not fit with your times and rostered days off.
We happily collect at the start of your stay at a time that works for you, and the same with the end of the stay, but please note we cannot provide transport at any other time, unless we happen to be heading in that direction and it works with your availability.
The village is a 20 minute walk for the farm and has a grocery store, cafes and bars. For most of your stay, this will be your piece of rural paradise!

My experience at the shelter was very nice, i fell in love with all of the animals there. Also, it's very nice to have other volunteers live with you whom you can connect to. I would recommend the experience if you are looking for nature and the shelter care. Know that the days are pretty long which can be hard sometimes but you do have a lot of breaks and nice days off. :)

I had more of an unconventional Worldpackers' experience than most but nonetheless it was a great time! I just came up to the shelter for the day to shoot some content to post on social media and it was such a pleasure getting to know Brad and all the shelter animals. It's obvious how much Brad cares for the animals in the way that he treats them :) They even apply sunscreen and bug spay to keep the animals more comfortable. I met other Worldpackers there too and they seemed happy with their work situation! They liked how many breaks they get and their living accommodations :)
