The Experience

For me it is important you work independently. Standard tasks are setting breakfast, preparing dinner, making beds, doing laundry, some cleaning. I have a garden as well, where I want to grow some vegetables again this year. If you are creative you can do some art stuff such as making more murals. If you are handy, you can do small repairs. Work is not hard, but I need to be able that you will perform the tasks after an initial explanation.

I had a really good time here. The volunteers were great and Stef is an open and well traveled person. I got the opportunity to paint a mural and was given pretty much free reign to do what I wanted as long as the tone was happy so I highly recommend to other artists:) the guest house is located in a pretty small town so definitely be prepared for that but it's a really beautiful place and you get to meet people from all over the world. Truly a great experience, I highly recommend this experience, especially if you want to meet international travelers!!

Here you never feel like you're working, just taking care of your lovely home. The tasks are very easy and you have plenty of time to explore the local culture and beautiful landscapes in the area. You have the chance to interact with amazing piligrims by having dinner with them. It's incredible how many laughs we had at every meal. The healty food we cooked from the garden was a huge plus. On top of all Stef is an amazing, well traveled and well organized person, it was a pleasure meeting him. I would wholeheartedly recommend this place to anyone who's looking for an authentic experience.

I had a fantastic time working at this albergue. Situated alongside El Camino de Santiago, you are sure to meet interesting people from around the entire globe. If you intend to practice your Spanish, there will assuredly be individuals along the way who would be happy to speak with you. Additionally, the host speaks Spanish, alongside 4 other languages, so it's a great place to practice Spanish. Additionally, the guest house is located in a beautiful small village, with fascinating cultural architecture, including the White Church and the Cienfuegos Palace, as well beautiful day hikes. 10/10!

I cannot express how amazing this experience truly was! the guest house instantly felt like home, and the volunteers like family. The pilgrims that would stay were all incredibly interesting, each with a different nationality and story. The work load was more than fair, and honestly it didn't even feel like work. I highly reccommend this experience to anyone who is looking to explore the gem that is norther Spain!

Forever grateful of Stef's generosity & hospitality. There should be more places like this. It's good to feel of service for the pilgrims of the Camino de Santiago (Way of Saint James.) I have loved to share stories, conversations, life experiences, songs with the pilgrims and I have loved to cook partly from the garden where veggies grow so fast ! You feel like home, this place attracts very cool volunteers too, some painted iconic murals and there is still room for more ! I've stayed 4 weeks and this was perfect for me to have a solid break and rest ! I shall come back by walking the camino!
