The experience

I am an artist and widow and I live on the Gloucester river on a rural, non-farming, bush property of 48 hectares (120 acres). I would like help maintaining the property which needs some TLC. In exchange, I would provide accommodation in a caravan next to my home, or in a spare room, and 3 meals a day. I live near world heritage Barrington Tops. Couples are very welcome. Work would be fairly physical.

What you offer

15 hours of help per week

Building & Repairing: Help with a wide range of repairs or building.

Gardening: Help grow plants and cultivate gardens

What you get

2 days off per week

Private Room: You will have a bed in a private room. In other words, a room just for you.

Tent: You will sleep in a tent at a camping site.

Breakfast: You are entitled to a free breakfast, every day of your stay.

Lunch: You are entitled to a free lunch, every day of your stay.

Dinner: You are entitled to a free dinner, every day of your stay.

Free Laundry: You can use our laundry room freely.

Free Tours: We’ll take you on tours and rides around town. For free!

Get free drinks or beverages.: Drink up! Get free and tasty drinks for yourself.

Bikes at your disposal: You can use our bikes any time you want.

Pick Up: We will pick you up when you arrive, and take you to our property.

Yoga classes: Take free yoga classes at our place.

Language lessons: Take free language classes at our place.

Use our equipped kitchen: Feel free to use our kitchen and make your own delicious food.

Basic Internet Access: Basic speed internet for you to work remotely

Program Details

I would be happy to converse with the traveller/s and help with their English skills. I personally communicate very well. I would love the traveller/s to cook the evening meal - something from their culture would be wonderful. I can pick up traveller/s from Gloucester NSW which can be reached by train. I ask for reasonable work in return for accommodation and meals. Note: at the moment my granddaughter is staying with me so you would be accommodated inside my home in your own private room

Activities & Shift

Asking for 3 hours per day at whatever jobs need doing round the property depending on the capability of the traveller/s. I need rocks shifted, clean up of junk around my home, whipper snipping, and weeding (on the property - not like garden weeding). Some housework. These hours can be combined for additional non-work days if desired.

Rules

No smoking of any kind inside my home or caravan. Smoking outdoors is fine. I expect to be treated with respect and will do the same.
