The Experience

My time at the project was amazing. Damián and the project are so caring and nice, and really prioritize the well-being of their volunteers. They always treated me like family, and were there to help in any way I needed. I'm going to miss their 4 dogs so much, they were so sweet. The house is beautiful and amazing to see as someone who loves design and sustainability. The work was fair and doable, and we had plenty of downtime every day to relax. The food was incredible! I would highly recommend this workaway to anyone looking to learn bio construction, sustainability, and Uruguayan life.

The experience was incredible, Damian and the project are fantastic hosts, welcoming and kind. Here you can learn a lot about bioconstruction, basic woodwork, cheeses, Uruguayan culture, and anything else, cause Damian now how to anything you ask. It's amazing all the process of helping them to build their home, you see walls raising, the reflection of the sun on the bottles of the wall, and the incredible spirit of community in the area. Besides that, trough my stay the food was amazing and delicious! I mean it very much!! As my first worldpackers experience, I couldn't expect more!

Our time with Damián and the project was amazing. We really felt like we learned a lot about Uruguay and the process of building a home out of mud. We had fun the entire time we were working and really feel like we made friends. Damián and the project took us to several places around the area and to the carnaval festival during our stay. We 100% recommend volunteering with them if you want to learn more about Uruguay, spend time in the countryside, and work with your hands to build something environmentally friendly!

It was an absolutely amazing experience. the project and Damián are absolutely wonderful host. I felt like I was part of the family. Not just did I learn how to build a Bio-constructed house. I also got to learn how to make Colonia cheese & Mozzarella. The best cheese I've ever tasted in my life. I also learned how to make the best yogurt in the world. I fell in love with the Uruguayan country side and it people.
