The Experience

If you are looking for a home away from home and immersing in the local culture, this is a perfect experience. Herminia opens not only the doors of her cozy home but also her heart! I had an experience of a lifetime - harvesting olives on the fields, learning about the complexities of olive oil making, visiting the factory, participating in Herminia's yoga class, hiking the nearby mountains, going to the beach with Herminia and more. Thank you Herminia for the warmth you brought to my life and this beautiful opportunity to be connected with nature.

Reflecting on my journey home, I'm overwhelmed by the sheer magnificence of this experience! Of course, olive picking is hard work, sometimes I went to bed at 10 pm but it was worth it for the morning and watching the sunrise and to be ready for the day. Herminia, our host, embodies pure warmth; she offered a snug haven and deeply cared for our well-being. We did a lot of fun things together! Despite the language barrier, our bond flourished, and we became close friends. I feel so fulfilled and calm, still remembering the beautiful aroma of olives and the fresh olive oil.. Thank you, Herminia!

It's a very nice and unforgettable experience in Herminia's house. She is such an elegant, intelligent, friendly and considerate lady. She always cares about your feelings. I really feel welcomed and respected in her home. The house is big and beautiful with many arts items. And she provide a cozy place for me to live and sleep. She drive me to Gandia Alcoy Alicante and Vanlenia, made the famous traditional delicious food –paella for me .We went to pick up the figs from her big fig tree, went hiking with her neighbours. Here is just like a home away from my own home. I surely have fun there.

Abrazos. Herminia

It took so long to write a review for this experience, because I just couldn't find the right words to describe how happy I was in Herminia's house, still these words are not enough. I barely can hold back my tears when I start to remember beautiful days I spent with this marvellous lady. Here I need to say more about your future host. She is not only the owner of the nice country house and olive farm, also this strong woman is a writer, professor of arts, artist, businesslady and very deep, intelligent person. I've never met such a generous human being who is always there to share and help.

Herminia

This experience was nothing short of fantastic. Herminia is an amazing amazing woman who was beyond welcoming and was always providing opportunities to learn about and explore nearby places. She was very patient with my lack of Spanish and was very encouraging to keep practicing. We cooked together for each meal and Herminia made sure we tried lots of traditional dishes and desserts. We mainly helped with yard tasks as well as some indoor organization. This experience is a must if you want to experience local Spanish culture and eat numerous types of fresh oranges every day!!
