Valerie is such a genuine, caring, and down to earth person. Delicious cooking, knowledge of the area, spiritual guide, recommendations of nearby attractions, you ask and she will be more than willing to answer! The work exchange is more than fair. I enjoyed the work because it felt like I was leaving my mark on such a beautiful space. Lovely family with a hard working husband and 3 very enjoyable and entertaining boys. Each day you appreciate the space more and more because you start to understand all the love and energy that went into it to create it. 10/10 can't wait to come back!

My time here was really really enriching and I've learned so much about this family, knowledge that I'm going to keep forever! Thank you so much to the entire family for sharing this with the people! Also, the place is beautiful they live on this huge garden where they grow a bunch of fruits and flowers and it's surrounded by two volcanoes and mountains!

Valerie and her family are very caring people who have opened a safe space for travelers. The tents are comfortable, the meals are delicious, and the ceremony's are life changing. They live close to town, and next to a beautiful river. Valerie arranged for us to hike to a waterfall near by and you're only 30 minutes from Rio Celeste which is a must see! The work isn't overwhelming and you can find yourself with time to relax. So thankful for Valerie allowing us this experience in Costa Rica !

My time at the Center will be one I am going to remember for a long time. I was welcomed so warmly and felt right at home during my whole stay. It is a truly unique and beautiful place surrounded by so much incredible nature. The work hours were fair and quite flexible as well. I had a really great time there and would recommend everyone to go if they can:)

My time volunteering at Valerie's was special. It was my first volunteering, I took care of the three little kids and I enjoyed every moment of it. The place itself is stunning, surrounded by nature that the family cares for with dedication. I'm grateful for the family's trust and hospitality during my stay. Barbara, the other volunteer, the homely atmosphere, beautiful walks and ceremonies made it a memorable experience. It's definitely more of a homestay, but that's what made it so authentic and enjoyable. I'd highly recommend it for anyone looking for a genuine volunteering experience.
