Milk Thistle Farm

With the original house built in 1785, the property is on the historical register and consists of the main house and 5 acres of land. It is run as a small rural sanctuary and is home to rescued chickens, goats and pigs, as well as two humans and their companion dogs and cats. The main property is fenced, with a large field at the back, great for camping, and an orchard to explore.

We try to minimize our impact on the environment as much as possible and encourage our guests to compost, recycle and dispose of waste accordingly. We both work full time and you will have a mix of time alone and shared leisure/meal time. We are happy to share local attractions and our skills.

This was such a great experience, and as someone who’s never been on a farm, I learned a lot! Both hosts were welcoming and patient. Krystine and I had some awesome conversations and really gave me a “taste” of Rhode Island!
