We need help maintaining our historic and beautiful sanctuary and retreat center with many buildings, Egyptian motifs, and exotic plants and animals. We celebrate the Divine Feminine and alternative spirituality and support LGBTIQ+. Volunteers have been coming here for 45 years. We need housekeepers, gardeners, and handypeople of all sorts to work independently or as part of a team for about 4 hours most days.

Programa detallado

We have many tasks to do here on our 9 acre property. Short-term volunteers generally assist longer-term volunteers in a variety of ways. We offer certificates in basic bird and animal care if there is focus in those areas during your stay here. All volunteers have access to our fully equipped kitchen and food to prepare for themselves in addition to some shared meals, which vary. Participants should have good enclosed shoes and clothes that they can work in. While most sleeping spaces have Wifi, the best high-speed wifi is located in our dining pavilion area.

Actividades & Turnos

Morning, afternoon and evening shifts can be arranged. Animal and bird care is usually in morning and late afternoon. Housekeeping is morning to early afternoon. Gardening and landscaping usually takes place in the morning. Special events may change the schedule. Volunteers are welcome to participate in most workshops and events at the retreat center.

Reglas

Smoking only allowed in limited areas and not inside any buildings or while going about tasks. Adherence to non-violent methods of communication. No intoxication with any substance. No racism or sexual harassment. Volunteers must wear clean pleasant-looking clothing without slogans or disturbing imagery. We are a rustic environment and good enclosed-toe shoes are recommended. Participants must sign liability release.
