We are looking for people who love the nature and can also take care of themselves. (especially cooking for yourself) because I might not be there on the weekends. The main help might be harvesting, weeding, fertilizing, fencing, building, and sometimes might need help on the weekends to take care of the dog

The time spent here was wonderful. There was a great balance of the amount of work, breaks, downtime and many projects and extra things to do, while digitally disconnecting. Steven is a wonderful host and a particularly talented cook. You will NOT go hungry here! We were able to teach each other recipes by cooking with each other. Steven also has a great knowledge of the environment, and history of the area. The tours and activities offered were fun, informative, and a great way to experience the Taiwanese outdoors. Simple, fulfilling and fun experience. Tangyuan is a good dog :)

I really enjoyed my time at the farm, it's situated in a beautiful remote area in the mountain, the perfect place if you want to take a break from the busy world. The work was easy, and we had plenty of free time to rest or do whatever we wanted (hiking, visiting the tea factory, going to the natural water slide...). Steven is a really nice and easy going person, and he cooks amazing taiwanese food ! The dog is amazingly cute, I will miss him so much ! If you come during winter, you should bring really warm clothes because it can be very chilly and humid, especially during the night.

My experience on Steven's Farm was I really enjoyable experience. The work isn't to hard, me and the other volunteer worked together with building fences, harvesting crops, taking care of the dog(really nice dog) and help in kitchen. The area around the farm is scenic and quiet, perfect if you need a break from the city. We did two weeks which was a perfect amount of time as the farm is a bit out of the way. There are lots of hiking trails, waterfalls and rivers everywhere. The farm is about one hour away from town. Steven also showed us how to make some Taiwanese cuisine too.Thank you Steve.

As a farmer, I will say the weather is the first thing I have to consider about.
To cooperate with a boss and other friends, many times there are uncertainties to deal with. Also , every year I can not say I could keep going at this place, too much issue need to be handle, people want to get your land, landlord want to increase the rent. So in the end, finances would be the priority to make me feel like stable, even I can't keep here going , the rest would be my precious experience. If you can't buy a land and keep it for long, it's not a sustainable system already. I am sorry and also happy to hear about you disappointment, but I believed we have lots of time in the farm, I will try to understand helper's preferences next time, but also pls ask more so I know what you really want to know.
(I believed I try to share everything I know about the water system, and I am sorry for the weaving experiment which is not what I am good at.)
