I absolutely loved my stay with Shirley, Yeilin and Maria! Perfect place for connecting with nature, learning about sustainability and local culture. Tasks were easy and caring about their adorable goats and chickens was such a therapeutic experience for me. Definitely recommend this finca to everyone! Muchas gracias por todo!

This experience was once in a lifetime! You are instantly welcomed into Yeilin and Shirley's beautiful family and are treated like so for the whole stay. The work was interesting and interacting with the animals was great fun. They have so much knowledge about permaculture and costa rica and love to share it with you. The meals were incredible and we even got some spanish classes from Yeilin which were super helpful (and fun). We miss them already!

It has been an absolutely wonderful experience. Nature there is mesmerizing, the food – is delicious, and the hosts Shirley and Yeilin are angels. They are very kind and caring. Being in their presence constantly reminds you how beautiful life is. They are also wise and knowledgeable, so they can teach you a lot about how to live in peace with nature. I enjoyed our long and meaningful conversations and I will miss these people a lot.

We were told on one of the first days that they treat volunteers like we are part of their family - and it was certainly true. The work with the animals and around the farm was interesting and explained very well. The care they have for the animals, the environment as a whole, and for the volunteers is incredible. Yeilin also gave us Spanish lessons in the afternoons and we learnt so much (and had a lot of fun) and we even got to practice in the local market with Shirley! We will miss this place and the beautiful people who live here, and hope we can return one day!

My time here was truly amazing and one that I will always cherish. I was immediately welcomed by Yeilin and Shirley and felt like I was a part of their wonderful family during my time! I learned a lot about the daily tasks necessary for running the farm successfully, like taking care of the animals and working on some other projects to help develop the farm. It was very cool to develop new skills as I had never worked with farm animals or worked much with construction, and I felt comfortable and clear with what I needed to do! The food was absolutely incredible! I cannot recommend this enough!

I have nothing bad to say about my stay. Shirley and Yeilin are the kindest souls and went out of their way to make us feel at home and cared for. They cooked us delicious homemade meals and each meal was accompanied by a meaningful and engaging conversation. They truly wanted to get to know us and I felt so comfortable and loved my entire stay. The hours were as expected and the work was fun! I got a little sick and they took care of me so closely. Shirley even ended work early one day to take us into town to go to the farmers market with her. Please go! They are angels.

I had so much fun at this farm! Not only were the hosts smart and ambitious but they are creative and have very open minds. I enjoy the way they work with nature, never against it. Very recommendable :)

Shirley and Yeilin were so welcoming and kind during my stay. Everyone there spoke Spanish (5 other volunteers, unusual I think!) and I am a beginner so it was really hard work understanding most of the conversations, but I I think I learned a lot. I learned about cutting and curing bamboo and prepping a field for planting passionfruit :) They were always eager to answer questions. I also hurt my ankle (outside the farm) and they were very kind and helped me with treatment and rest. Lots of chickens, refreshing cold shower, lots of mud, interesting people, healthy food… recommend!
