Cosy Homestay in BUE

After 20 years running a guesthouse were I received hundreds of foreigners, I moved to this small home, where I always have something to do/fix.
I have been receiving volunteers for last 10 years as a way of giving back the help I received when I was traveling.
Buenos Aires is the mandatory departure point to travel to other touristic places we have in the country. The city holds many art centers, all kind of museums, cinemas, theaters, open air free shows. My house is in a quiet and safe location, not far from downtown, with 2 metros + 12 bus lines around, and a very huge park at 3 blocks.

I offer accomodation in private room + breakfast, for 3hs/day Mon to Fri at mornings (shifts possible) to help me in cleaning and maintenance of the house, painting, washing the car and sometimes some small repairs in it. Not heavy works. I'm a retired engineer, so you can learn tips and tricks to improve your handy[wo]man capability (friends call me "Mc Giver" ;-). Also I will help you to know better the city; mainly places or events that aren't in the touristic brochures. Time to stay is 1 - 2 weeks, ideal to know this amazing city, --------->> Notice: I consider this as a way to know people & cultures through doing things together, NOT just a way to travel by cheap. If you cannot take a broom, sleep till late, can't live 1 hour without cell phone... don't write me (bad experience with one person like this was enough).<<---------

What a wonderful visit to Buenos Aires
When I signed up for this volunteering, I was a little worried, but I was very positively surprised
Mr. Juan, he welcomed me very well, he is an incredible and very intelligent person, he paid attention at all times, with breakfast, lunch, note: a very good cook!
He made maps and routes of the city so I could explore it.
His house is very clean and comfortable
He was a great host and great company
Thank you very much 🙏🏼
God blesses!!!

I appreciate all of the knowledge and local history taught to me by the host. It’s a great place to stay if you are interested in learning about the local area. The tasks and jobs were varied and the host was flexible with times and availability. The area felt safe and the host helps a lot with local transportation and is knowledgeable about places to visit in Argentina.

Hola Ricardo. It has been a pleasure to receive respectful and open-minded people like you, with whom it is possible to share talks on all kinds of topics (especially after a bad experience with my 1st guest on this site). I will not lack the opportunity to visit your beautiful caribbean insular country.

I regret to report a highly unpleasant experience during my stay with Juan. From the onset of our communication, Juan exhibited controlling, manipulative, and unpredictable behavior, starting with his mix-up in my arrival date where he yelled, blamed me and later apologized, utilizing gaslighting tactics. While my volunteering contributions were acknowledged positively, Juan's temperamental behaviour and emotional instability over minor incidents towards me as a guest were concerning. Many power dynamics were at play, allowing him allowing him to exploit his role and abuse power.Dont recommend

A person who goes out partying the 1st night and comes back drunk at 4 am, making all kinds of noises as he was alone in the house, does not deserve the slightest credibility. In many years hosting foreigners I have never seen anyone try to take control of my house. So I had to ask him to leave on day 3... and he still refused to leave! Incredible.
